I never studied computer science in college. My background is in architecture, civil engineering and CAD modeling from high school. When I started here at Zorc, the step from building houses in 3D environments to building apps felt surprisingly natural.

Why? Because in 2026, development is not about sitting and staring at strange signs and rules. It's about having a blueprint in your head and knowing how everything should fit together.

I am the one who controls the process

Many people think that AI does everything by itself, but this is not true. My most important competence is that I can control the tools so that they do what I want. I break down big, complicated problems into logical pieces and make sure the framework is right. Just like when I worked in CAD, I have to know exactly how I want the end result to look and work, but also how to go about making it look good. The AI ​​is just the tool that does the grunt work for me.

The absolute best thing about this way of working is the speed. It's so insanely motivating to just write a prompt and immediately see a nice result appear on the screen. Instead of harrowing manual code for days, I get to see my idea become a reality in seconds. That direct feedback makes it fun to go to work every day, because you have time to create so much more and hone in on the details that actually make a difference.

My thoughts on working vs. the school:

  • Structure is more important than rules:If you can think logically and see the big picture, you are a developer in 2026. You don't need to know every line of code by heart as long as you know how to steer the project forward.

  • Reality wins:I have learned more during my time here at Zorc than I ever would have in a school desk. Here I actually get to control projects for real and see them used by customers directly.

  • Motivation through results:Seeing my vision become something finished on the screen right away is what makes this job so damn fun.
