Accessibility statement

Last reviewed: 25 June 2026

Our ambition

ZORC wants everyone to be able to use our website — regardless of ability or assistive technology. We work towards WCAG 2.2 Level AA (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines), which goes beyond the WCAG 2.1 AA requirements of the harmonised European standard EN 301 549 that the European Accessibility Act and Swedish law build on.

How accessible is the website?

We assess that zorc.se is largely compliant with WCAG 2.2 AA. There are a few areas where we know accessibility may fall short (see below), and we address them continuously.

What we have built in

  • Semantic HTML with clear landmarks (header, navigation, main content, footer) and a correct heading hierarchy.
  • Full keyboard navigation with a visible focus indicator on all interactive elements.
  • A “Skip to content” link at the top of every page.
  • Focus moves to the main content and new pages are announced to screen readers on navigation.
  • Colour contrast that meets Level AA for both text and user interface components, plus support for “reduce motion” (prefers-reduced-motion).
  • Form fields with associated labels, clear error messages and correct focus handling in dialogs.
  • Text alternatives for informative images, and decorative graphics hidden from screen readers.

Known limitations

We are aware of the following areas that are not yet fully accessible:

  • Embedded videos from YouTube and Vimeo rely on each service's own captions; self-hosted video clips currently lack caption tracks.
  • Some older, AI-generated articles may have flawed heading structure or image descriptions. These are being reviewed continuously.
  • Embedded third-party content (e.g. payment and map widgets) is partly outside our control.

Assistive technology and settings

The website works with the screen readers and magnification tools built into your device (e.g. VoiceOver, TalkBack, NVDA). You can also adjust text size, contrast and “reduce motion” in your browser or operating system settings — the site respects these.

Found a barrier?

If you run into something that does not work with your assistive technology, or if you need information in another format, let us know and we will fix it. We aim to reply within five working days.
