What is a good conversion rate?

The average for e-commerce in Sweden is approx. 1.5–3%. If you are below that, there is great potential to work with. If you're already at 3%, there's still room to grow.

1. Simplify the checkout process

Every extra step at checkout costs conversions. Offer guest purchases, minimize the number of form fields and clearly show which payment methods are accepted.

2. Add Klarna or Swish

Swedish consumers expect Klarna. If you don't offer it, you are likely to lose buyers who would otherwise have completed the purchase.

3. Optimize the product page images

High-quality images from several angles increase purchasing confidence. Consider 360-view or shorter product videos for products that are difficult to judge online.

4. View real customer reviews

Trusted reviews (Google, Trustpilot or built-in) greatly increase credibility - especially for new visitors who don't know your brand.

5. Make the page faster

Every extra second of load time costs conversions. Use Core Web Vitals in Google Search Console to find and fix bottlenecks.

6. Clear return policies

A clear and generous return policy reduces purchase hesitation. Place it prominently on the product page, not just in the footer.

7. Abandoned cart email

Automated abandoned cart email setup is still one of the highest yielding email streams you can have.

8. A/B test CTA buttons and headlines

Small changes in the text and color of the buy button can have a big effect. Use tools such as AB Tasty or Google Optimize to test systematically.
