What is UI?

UI stands for User Interface — everything you SEE and tap in an app or on a website: the buttons, icons, colours, text, menus, and how everything is laid out. If UX is how something feels to use, UI is the visual layer you actually meet with your eyes.
A good analogy is a car dashboard. UI is the shape of the steering wheel, how the buttons look, where the gauges sit, and that important things are large and easy to see. A well-designed UI means you immediately understand what is what, without a manual. A messy UI feels like a cockpit full of identical grey buttons where you dare not press anything.
