Design is psychology, not decoration
I work at the intersection of design and technology — because that's where the best products are born. For me, design is never just "making it look nice". It's about psychology, communication and business value. An app, site or platform that doesn't convey the right feeling immediately will never convert, no matter how brilliant the code behind it is.
What I'm constantly drawn to is the unspoken. How a specific typeface can build trust in a hundredth of a second, or how the wrong colour choice can make a visitor turn around without knowing why. How text and image either live together in perfect symbiosis — or grate. The strongest brands are uncompromising in every detail, and that is exactly the level I demand in everything we build at ZORC.
Who are you on the team?
I'm the bridge between the code and the human. When Zébulon and the developers talk about databases and APIs, I'm the one who makes sure the end user actually understands, cares about and loves using what we build. I'm the detail pedant who can stop a launch because the margins are two pixels off — and also the strategist who makes sure the client's brand gets exactly the right voice. If you boil it down: Zébulon makes sure the machine runs fast; I make sure people actually want to drive it.
What's your favourite thing to do at work?
Taking a messy, sprawling concept and starting to clear the noise. That moment when you strip away everything unnecessary, find the absolute core of a client's identity and watch the puzzle pieces fall into place visually — that's magic. And of course: presenting a finished design to a client and watching them straighten up because they finally feel at home in their own brand.
